Change Windows Password without Knowing it

Today I'm gonna write about an amazing trick for you! By this time you've already understood about what I'm talking about. Yes, you can change windows password without knowing it. But PC should be in a running condition! 

This is a very easy method. If you're new user then you might face some problems. But mid level user can do this within few minutes. But your PC should be in the Administrator mode to do this task. 

This system has been tested for Windows 8 and 7. But this method may also work on Windows XP. Okay let's start. 

1. Open Command prompt as Administrator. XP users don't require Administrative mode. 
2. Now type this command and press enter- net user
3. Now type another command and press enter- net user Administrator *
4. Type the new password and press enter.
5. Retype the password and press enter.
6. If password is changed then you will see the message- the command completed successfully. 

Remember: When you typing the new password, you cursor will not be moved. Don't be afraid.  You can take help from the image below:

And don't forget to create a Password Reset Disk to avoid any accident. If you have the reset disk you can change your password if forgotten. 

Search Files Faster on Windows 8

If you have switched to Windows 8 from Windows 7, you might notice that search option is not very strong. When you search something on Windows 8 it doesn't show the files stored on Hard Disk. It only searches on some specific locations. Because other hard drives are not automatically indexed. 

If you wanna enhance your search experience then you should index all the drives of your computer in the indexing service. If your drives are indexed then your search item will appear immediately as you type. 

Okay let's start: 

1. Go to Control Panel (Hint: Start + R > type Control > press Enter) 
2. Hit on the Indexing Options
3. Click on Modify button
4. Select all the Drives as shown in the image below
5. Hit OK
6.  That's it. Now within few hours your all files and folders will be indexed to the indexing service. 

Note: If you wanna omit any drive from indexing then unmark it.

Activate Windows 8 Preview by Windows Update!

Microsoft declared that Windows 8 Developer Preview will be expired on March 11, 2012. And when it will expire, the computers with Windows 8 Developer Preview installed will restart every 2 hours!

So there are two options available for users. They can either download Windows 8 Consumer Preview or they can use their previous windows instead of Windows 8.

But there is another options available for Windows 8 users! Ya I am talking about activating it. There are lots of options available for activation. Some of them are valid some are invalid. Some are working and some are non working. 

But, do you know that you can easily validate your developer preview version in a legal way. Microsoft released an update for windows 8 a few days ago. This update is very small. 

Activation Method: 

1. Open Control Panel
2. Go to the Windows Update
3. Click on available updates link
4. Now search for an update named Update for Windows 8 Developer Preview (KB2671501)
5. And install it.

If you have any difficulty to find it then install all updates. Your windows will be activated automatically after restarting your PC. 

If you wanna make sure that your windows is activated then make a right click on Computer and click on View details in Windows Activation. And you will see the following window:

Activate the Final Versions of Windows 8 (Build 9200)

DirectX Diagnostic Tool: dxdiag

Sometimes you may need to analyze your system configuration. If your PC gets damaged and needs to take it to the service center then you should check the system configuration. Unfortunately if the experts of service center are dishonest then they might change your system. For example you have 2 GB RAM. They can replace it with an 1 GB RAM. Your Processor may be Dual Core. They can replace it with a Pentium 4 processor.

With DirectX Diagnostic Tool you can see the detailed information about the hardware and drivers installed on your system. You can view the system manufacturer, system model, processor capacity, RAM, DirectX version, Video Card, Sound Card and so many.

To open DirectX Diagnostic Tool, simply go to the Run by pressing Start + R, then type dxdiagand hit enter. Now a Yes/ No option may appear. Just hit on the yes button. Now you will see a window named DirectX Diagnostic Tool.

Well in this window you can see several options ie. System, Display, Sound etc. 

• System: In this tab you will find the Name of your PC, Current Date and Time, Operating System, Language, System Manufacturer, BIOS Version, Processor Type, Amount of Memory (RAM), DirectX Version etc. 
• Display: Next to the System Tab is Display. Here you will get the Name, Manufacturer and  Memory of your Display Driver or Graphics Card. 
• Sound: You may notice 2 or 3 tabs about Sound. How many tabs you will see depends on the system and hardware you're using. 
• Input: It shows how many input devices are connected with your PC. 2 most common inputs are mouse and keyboard. Any additional input devices should appear here.
